Expanded Distribution in NY State and Kentucky

Dad’s Hat Whiskeys will now be available from The Winebow Group throughout New York State. We are very excited to work the team from Winebow as they will offer greater coverage in not only the NYC area but now the entire state of New York. Republic Nation Distribution Company is now distributing our products throughout Kentucky and we are thrilled to be selling our whiskey in the home state to many of the leading bourbon whiskey distilleries.

Dad’s Hat also recently joined our European importer, La Maison du Whisky, during the three day Whisky Live Paris event, billed as “The World’s Premier Whisky Tasting Show”. There we met and mingled with many European rye whiskey lovers and many new Dad’s Hat Whiskey customers. The team at LMDW is working with distributors across Europe to bring our fine products to customers across the Continent.

Following the event in Paris, we also had the pleasure of introducing Dad’s Hat to whiskey fans in Germany at the Bar Convent Berlin, a major European bar and beverage trade show.

Barrel Aged Rye Cocktails Are Making A Big Splash

At Dad’s Hat, it’s no secret that we consider the making of genuine rye whiskey a classic art form. Now some adventurous mixologists are taking that notion to the next level with the newest trend – barrel aged custom cocktails!

Recently, Philly’s own Percy Street Barbecue got into the act with their unique barrel aged concoction made with Dad’s Hat Rye, maple syrup, cranberry, Carpano Antica and Fernet Branca, then finished with black walnut bitters. The cocktail was debuted at their recent “Meet the Distiller” event and paired with whiskey-friendly fare from Chef-Owner Erin O’Shea.

Meanwhile over at The Fat Ham, “Top Chef” Kevin Sbraga’s newest Philadelphia outpost, head bartender Anwar Morgan has developed a collection of cocktails that draws heavy on Southern drinking traditions. Two large wooden Dad’s Hat casks flank the bar while carefully chosen barrel-aged beverages like the house original “3131″ (Rye, Averel, Dolin Sweet Vermouth and Bitters) mature to perfection right before your eyes inside the whiskey-soaked barrels.

Washington DC’s The Rye Bar at Capella Hotel also created quite a stir with their barrel aged Manhattan (rye, Dolin sweet vermouth, Byrrh Quinquina and housemade orange bitters). Fifteen gallons of the boozy brew were aged for six weeks in an oak barrel. The results deemed so popular that the Georgetown bar sold out the initial batch in eight days and new batches are already in the works.
