Pennsylvania Rye is Back

Pennsylvania Rye is back where it belongs! Following two years of development, testing and refinement, Mountain Laurel Spirits, LLC of Bristol is pleased to announce the launch of Dad’s Hat™ Pennsylvania White Rye. Taken straight from the still and bottled at 100 proof with no barrel aging, Dad’s Hat White Rye represents a true expression of rye spirit and pays homage to Pennsylvania’s rich 200-year history of Rye Whiskey production. Created in small batches using local ingredients and traditional methods, the result is a clean and smooth taste with hints of anise, plenty of spice and a warm, malty grain finish. This white spirit, after aging in quarter cask oak barrels, will become Dad’s Hat Pennsylvania Rye Whiskey, due for release by Father’s Day. Dad’s Hat Pennsylvania White Rye can now be purchased at The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board’s online web store at www.finewineandgoodspirits.com.
Located within the historic Grundy Commons Complex at 925 Canal Street, Bristol, PA, the craft distillery carries on a Keystone State tradition of whiskey production that dates back to the 1700s. As the birthplace of Rye Whiskey, Pennsylvania once produced over 6 million gallons of the spirit annually until Prohibition came along and devastated the industry. Dad’s Hat Pennsylvania White Rye is the first step in reestablishing that tradition.
